Productboard is the mature choice for roadmapping: prioritization frameworks, portals, org-wide planning rituals. Its Spark AI now summarizes feedback and surfaces findings. If your bottleneck is organizing decisions across many product teams, it’s a serious tool with a decade of workflow refinement.
But Productboard starts one step too late for many teams. It assumes the hard part is organizing insights — while for most small and mid-sized products, the hard part is producing them: five channels of raw messages nobody has read, let alone tagged into notes. And its per-maker pricing quietly fights how feedback actually works: the value comes from everyone seeing it, but every additional teammate with real access is a line on the invoice.
Side by side
| Productboard | Sentriment | |
|---|---|---|
| Built around | The roadmap: prioritizing and communicating what you'll build | The feedback itself: reading, clustering and quantifying what users say |
| AI analysis | Spark: summaries, findings and chat — metered by monthly AI credits per maker; AI Themes gated to top tiers | The pipeline IS the product: every item analyzed (sentiment, emotions, aspects, type), no credit meter |
| Revenue link | Segments and product usage integrations on paid tiers | MRR at stake computed per theme; churn-risk health score per user, synced to Mixpanel/Amplitude |
| Evidence | Notes linked to features | Every answer and score cites the underlying quotes; models and prompts versioned |
| Pricing | Free (500 notes) · Plus $19/maker/mo · Business $59/maker/mo (annual, 2-maker min) | Free (100 items/mo) · from $49/mo flat · unlimited seats on every paid plan |
| Hosting | US company; enterprise options | 100% EU (Frankfurt), PII redacted at ingestion — on the free plan too |
Do the team math once: five people touching feedback on Business is $295/month before the roadmap earns its keep. Sentriment at $49 is a flat number the whole team shares — the analysis gets more valuable per dollar as more people read it, so charging per reader never made sense to us.
Pick Productboard if
- You have multiple product teams and the pain is alignment — planning, portals, prioritization frameworks.
- Insights already arrive curated (research team, structured discovery), and organizing them is the job.
Pick Sentriment if
- The raw feedback is unread and the first question is “what are users actually telling us?”
- You want themes ranked by revenue at stake and churn caught before the cancellation email.
- EU hosting and PII redaction are requirements, not roadmap items.
The two aren’t even mutually exclusive: a perfectly sane stack puts Sentriment at the front of the funnel (understanding) and a roadmap tool behind it (planning). But if you’re choosing one first tool because feedback is piling up unread — start where the pile is.
